what is literature ?

literature
Literature is a term used to describe written or spoken material. In common, "literature" is used to describe anything from creative writing to more technical or scientific works, but the term is most commonly used to refer to works of the creative imagination, including works of poetry, drama, fiction, and nonfiction and so on
In literature there are three classification, there are

1.The Imitative Theory
The imitative theory holds that art is an imitation of something. It does not imitate in direct. He recreates reality and presents it to us in a fashion in which we see its essence more clearly. It often includes the nation that art gives us not only pleasure but knowledge, insight into the nature of reality.

2.The Expressive Theory
The Expressive Theory holds that the artist is not essentially an imitator but a man who expresses his feelings. The work of an art is not an imitation of the external world but an expression of the internal word, the embodiment of an emotion. Sometime the theory insists that a work is true if it is sincere and valueless.

3.The Affective Theory
The Affective Theory holds that that art is to rise up a particular emotion and affect to the audience’s psychologist. This theory is often closely to the expressive theory.

Works of art give us an insight into reality (as the imitative theory usually holds), that they broaden our awareness of the possibilities of experience (as the expressive theory usually holds) and that they valuable affect our nervous system (as the affective theory usually holds.
